Miami Heat vs Detroit Pistons

 Miami Heat vs Detroit Pistons

It's starting to become that time of year where playoff Jimmy is starting to become activated. Teams in the Eastern Conference do not want to face the Miami Heat because it'll be a guarantee to be a tough out and series. The Heat have been firing on all cylinders after the all-star break having only lost one game which was to the defending champion Denver Nuggets. Miami would welcome the worst team in the conference in the Detroit Pistons.

Jimmy Butler would have 26 points in this game leading his team in scoring with 15 of those points coming in the final quarter. Duncan Robinson continues to drop jaws with his level of play this season ending the game with 18 points as Bam Adebayo would also get 18 points. Terry Rozier would follow with 17 points followed by Caleb Martin with 15 and Jaime Jaquez Jr with 11.

For the struggling Pistons it was Cade Cunningham scoring 23 points followed by Simone Fontecchio scoring 22. Jaden Ivey would go for 16 on the night with Jalen Duren right after with 14 points and Isaiah Stewart who has been in trouble lately would end the game with 13 points. The Pistons are currently tied for the worst record with the Washington Wizards.

The Heat entered this game without Tyler Herro with a foot injury as well as Kevin Love who's dealing with a heel injury. Josh Richardson who's dealing with a shoulder injury has been ruled out for the rest of the season as he needs to receive surgery to that shoulder. Miami would go out and sign veteran Patty Mills who once torched the Heat in the Finals as a member of the San Antonio Spurs.

Miami was only up by one at halftime but kicked into third gear entering the second half. They would score 15 points consecutively which included a pair of three-pointers by Rozier. Butler would come up with two clutch shots down the stretch that put the game to bed giving the Heat the 118-110 victory over Detroit. The Heat currently sit in 6th of the Eastern Conference with a chance to get up to 4th.

Up next for the Miami Heat is a road game visiting the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday.
