Miami Heat vs Oklahoma City Thunder

Miami Heat vs Oklahoma City Thunder

The home stretch started on a good note for the Miami Heat as they defeated the Houston Rockets 120-113. Victories are vital right now for Miami because 4-8th in the Eastern Conference are all bunched up by one game and result can make a difference. The Heat would welcome in the Oklahoma City Thunder who are having a stellar year currently sitting 2nd in the Western Conference.

Bam Adebayo would be the man for the Miami Heat leading the team in scoring with 25 points and 11 rebounds pairing with 6 assists. The rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr would score 21 points currently third in the rookie of the year standings. Haywood Highsmith had the best game of his career scoring 19 points with Nikola Jovic adding on 15. Tyler Herro would score 17 with the veteran Kevin Love finishing the night with 12.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was the player of the game between both sides and obviously for the Thunder finishing the game with 28 points. Rookie competitor of Jaquez Jr, Chet Holmgren currently 2nd in the standings would add 23 points. Jalen Williams had a career-best with 19 points, 12 assists, and 9 rebounds. Lu Dort and Isaiah Joe would go for 14 and 11 providing OKC with firepower.

The Thunder are off to the best start with a record of 25-11 since Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant who managed to take OKC to the Finals. As we've seen this story play out many times so far this season it was the second half that would be the downfall of the Heat.

OKC would go on two big runs in the second half which would give them a comfortable lead leaving Miami in a hole. Miami remained without Jimmy Butler and Caleb Martin due to injury but the team continues to perform at a high level despite their absence. The Heat made a late 10-0 run bringing the game to six but could not close the gap. The Thunder would defeat the Heat by a final score of 128-120.

Next up for the Miami Heat is a home game welcoming the Orlando Magic to the Kaseya Center.
