Miami Heat vs Golden State Warriors

Miami Heat vs Golden State Warriors

Miami Heat fans got a special gift on Christmas Day as their team defeated the Philadelphia 76ers continuing their dominance on the special holiday. The Heat now turn over to the west coast where they will ring in the calendar year of 2023. Things kicked off at the Chase Center in San Francisco paying a visit to the Golden State Warriors.

The Heat would be short handed to kick off this road trip as they were without Jimmy Butler, Caleb Martin, Kyle Lowry, and Josh Richardson. Tyler Herro once again shined finishing the game with 26 points and right behind him was the youngster Jamal Cain who impressed with 18 points. Bam Adebayo and Jaime Jaquez Jr each finished the night with 17 points.

It was a terrible night for the splash brothers Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson which is not said often. The Heat contained Curry and Thompson to just 13 points each which left them scratching their heads on the bench after the game. Moses Moody and Andrew Wiggins would each contribute 11 points followed by Trayce Jackson-Davis who finished with 10. The Warriors are also missing the defense of Draymond Green who is suspended indefinitely.

The challenge for Miami would be crashing the boards as Golden State leads the league in rebounding averaging 47 per game. The Heat were up to the challenge as they escaped San Francisco with a narrow 44-43 edge on the glass. Coach Spo's team would hand the Warriors a 114-102 loss and the first time they've lost at the Chase Center since November 18. Miami now sits 4th in the Eastern Conference with a 19-12 record.

Next up on the road trip the Miami Heat visit the Utah Jazz late Saturday afternoon.
