Inter Miami CF vs Charlotte FC
We were down to the final game of the season this past weekend as Inter Miami CF traveled to Bank of America Stadium to take on Charlotte FC who looked to clinch a playoff spot on decision day. For the first time in several games we would see Lionel Messi featured in the Miami starting 11. After the match head coach Tata Martino started that Josef Martinez would not remain with the club potentially making way for the arrival of Luis Suarez.
There was only one goal to show in this game and it arrived in the 13th minute from Kerwin Vargas to make it 1-0. Miami had chances especially when Messi hit the crossbar but several HUGE saves from Kristijan Kahlina who saved Charlotte's hopes.
The match would end 1-0 pushing Charlotte FC into the 2023 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs for the first time in club history. On the other hand for Inter Miami CF that would conclude the 2023 season with much overhaul on the roster going forward for next season.
Although the club did not clinch a spot in the playoffs they did have a historic season in terms of signing Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets. Miami would also earn the clubs first trophy by winning the inaugural Leagues Cup tournament.
We look forward to next season for Inter Miami CF and covering the club and seeing what moves they make in the offseason.
