Inter Miami CF vs Orlando City
The big three would once again be out of the squad for Inter Miami CF and we're talking about Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba due to injury. Mathematically there is still a chance for the playoffs but the window is closing with just a few matches left. Miami traveled to Exploria Stadium for a rivalry showdown against Orlando City.
Through 45 minutes it was Orlando City who looked like the most dangerous side and would be any moment before they score. Leonardo Campana would offer a dangerous opportunity for Miami that would need a save from Pedro Gallese.
The Herons would shock a very hostile Exploria Stadium with a goal coming in the 52nd minute that would silence the crowd. Josef Martinez would get a shot off on the left side away from his body prompting a save from Gallese and Ruiz would be right there for the tap in to make it 1-0.
Conceding a goal would fire up Orlando and its crowd even more as they turned up the pressure on the Miami defense. Duncan McGuire would have the ball fall at his feet off of a defensive deflection and would fire a close range shot megging Drake Callender to equalize the match 1-1 in the 66th minute.
The match would end in a 1-1 draw as Orlando continues to sit second in the Eastern Conference and for Miami it leaves them in 14th just five points off of the final playoff spot with just four matches left.
Next up for Inter Miami CF is the U.S. Open Cup Final at midweek against the Houston Dynamo for a chance to earn their second trophy this season.
