The Miami FC vs Loudoun United

The Miami FC vs Loudoun United

The Miami FC continued the road trip after a short handed 10 men match against San Antonio FC in which Miami picked up +3. They hit the road to face a Loudoun United team that has been struggling as well this season sitting just three points behind Miami. Continuing to earn points would be huge for Miami to continue to strive for a playoff spot.

This was a nail biter on the road that had Miami fans thinking "oh man here we go another draw because of a blown lead". The scoring would get going in the 10th minute with Miami's Salazar making a run sneaking in for a pass and slotting it past the keeper. The visiting team would take control of the match 1-0 looking to hold down the fort.

Unfortunately, the lead would not last long and would only last 10 minutes to be exact. In the 20th minute a miscommunication in the Miami defense would end up in an own goal resulting in the equalizer for a 1-1 match. This gave United fans hope and confidence which trickled down into the pitch injecting life into the home team.

This would not blunder the Miami will and determination to chase the +3 at Segra Field with a response right before the end of the half. Ryan Telfer in the 39th minute to put the visiting team back on top with the 2-1 lead.

The second half was filled with much intensity with Miami having several opportunities coming from counter attacks but nothing conclusive. Loudoun United had great through balls but the resolve and determination of the Miami defense disrupted any attack in the final third.

Miami would go on to hold on for the 2-1 victory earning the +3 jumping into 10th of the Eastern Conference just two points shy of a playoff spot.

Next up for The Miami FC is a home match welcoming El Paso Locomotive FC to FIU Stadium at the weekend.
