Inter Miami CF vs Columbus Crew

Inter Miami CF vs Columbus Crew

For the first time this season, Inter Miami CF earned a draw against visitors Austin FC who've struggled as well this season. This did not break the losing streak but it did put it on hold for a moment as well as getting one point is better than none. Miami has started to pick up some motivation with the recent roster news and a new head coach. On Independence Day, Miami welcomed the highly favored Columbus Crew to Fort Lauderdale.

Miami's defense was put on alert early with Columbus finding space to get into the final third. Benjamin Cremaschi did a great job getting back to put a hold to any threat.

It wouldn't last long as Columbus would find the opener in the 23rd minute making it 1-0. Darlington Nagbe hit a magnificent volley that can be one of the top goals of the season.

In the second half it would be Miami rising to the occasion to level things 1-1 in the 57th minute leaving them time to strike for a victory. Robert Taylor would find Leonardo Campana for a header leaving no chance for Columbus.

Just not long after it would be Columbus with a response in the 69th minute which left Miami fans grunting as they've not been good in responding this season. Christian Ramirez was able to get his foot on one redirecting it to the back post past Callender for 2-1.

What happened next would go down for sure 100% as one of the top goals of the year would leave the match equalize. Josef Martinez would fire off a bicycle kick sending DRV PNK Stadium into a frenzy making the match 2-2.

The match would end 2-2 giving Miami another hard earned point but still remain in the bottom of the Eastern Conference searching for a victory.

Next up for Inter Miami CF is a road match at the weekend visiting D.C. United at Audi Field.
