Inter Miami CF vs New England Revolution

Inter Miami CF vs New England Revolution

The biggest news of the week was Lionel Messi deciding that his future lays in the hands of Inter Miami CF. The World Cup winner decided that he will be leaving Paris Saint-Germain and joining the Major League Soccer side. With Messi joining the team soon, this roster still needs a lot of work as they're still struggling to find form.

Former MLS MVP Carles Gil would strike first in this match straight from the penalty spot in the 27th minute giving the hosts a 1-0 lead. Miami has lost every single match this season where they have conceded first.

New England extended their lead in the 34th minute off of a corner kick with Matt Polster getting his head on it and making it a 2-0 lead. The Revolution would head into the dressing room with a comfortable yet dangerous lead.

The match would be decided in the opening minutes of the second half with Bobby Wood putting another one in the back of the net making it a 3-0 lead.

Despite the struggles, Leonardo Campana who was taken down in the box was able to draw a penalty for his team. Josef Martinez stepped up to the spot and drilled it making it a 3-1 match at the 84th minute.

Miami receives their 6th straight loss and still sitting dead last in the Eastern Conference.

Next up for Inter Miami CF is a road match visiting the Philadelphia Union on June 24th after the international break.
