The Miami FC vs Louisville City

The Miami FC vs Louisville City

The Miami FC entered this match coming off of an impressive 3-1 victory at home against the Birmingham Legion. Birmingham was sitting second in the Eastern Conference at the moment and the victory moved Miami to 5th. They would go on the road this weekend to face another top dog in the conference in Louisville City.

This match started with high intensity and a high pace coming from both teams. City were able to find the back of the net just six minutes in. Miami hasn't been the best when they concede first but they were up to the challenge at Lynn Family Stadium.

Kyle Murphy would have the opportunity to step up and take a penalty kick after a foul committed in the box by Louisville. Murphy would drill the penalty equalizing the match making it 1-1 as both teams headed to the lockeroom for halftime.

Coming out of the gate in the second half it was Louisville who imposed their will and wanted to shut Miami out of this match. In the 61st minute they would find a second goal putting the home side up 2-1 and that's all it would take.

Miami who fought hard in this match and were not intimidated by City's position in the table could not overcome the second goal. City would earn a penalty kick late in the match in which they were able to convert making it a 3-1 lead.

Louisville would defeat Miami 3-1 advancing to 2nd in the east and dropping Miami all the way to 7th. The Miami FC will return home next weekend hosting the San Diego Loyal at FIU Stadium.
