Inter Miami CF vs New England Revolution

Inter Miami CF seems to have hit a good run of form after multiple victories including one against the Charleston Battery in the U.S. Open Cup and a victory at home against Atlanta United. This weekends task was not an easy one as the Herons welcomed the Eastern Conference leaders the New England Revolution into DRV PNK Stadium. The Revolution had not lost a game since March 12th when they faced the defending champions in LAFC.

The 6th minute in this match would historic/monumental for Miami when David Ruiz would become the first homegrown academy player to score for the first team. Ruiz received a pass from Leonardo Campana outside the box allowing the youngster to take a shot which deflected off a Revolution player and find its way into the back of the net for 1-0.

New England would see a goal come off the board by decision of VAR assessing that an offside New England player obstructed the view of Drake Callender. They would get their equalizer in the 26th minute with former MVP Carles Gil taking it down the middle of the box with two Miami defenders on him to make it 1-1.

Ruiz would make his presence felt once again with DeAndre Yedlin playing a through ball that seemed a bit long but the hustle of Ruiz made a hard tackle on Latiff Blessing inside the box winning the ball with no foul called. The youngster then found Josef Martinez waiting in the middle of the box setting him up to make it a 2-1 lead for Miami.

The winning streak would continue for Miami picking up the +3 and jumping all the way to 5th in the Eastern Conference. Next up for Inter Miami CF is a midweek clash in the music city visiting Nashville SC.
