Miami Marlins vs Philadelphia Phillies
The northeast road trip continued for the Miami Marlins within the NL East visiting the city of brotherly love. The Phillies who enter this season defending the National League after a trip to the World Series are struggling to get going. Meanwhile for Miami, a majority of their losses have come at the hand of the New York Mets.
Game 1: Marlins 3-15 Phillies
Sandy Alcantara vs Matt Strahm
Miami's CY Young Award winner struggled immensely giving up nine runs. Alec Bohm hit a HR along with six RBI's to help Philadelphia take game one of the series.
Game 2: Marlins 8-4 Phillies
Jesus Luzardo vs Aaron Nola
The big storyline in game two was Luis Arraez becoming the first player in Miami Marlins franchise history to hit a cycle. A cycle means the player hit a single, double, triple, and home run all in the same game. This helped Miami defeat the Phillies in game two by a final score of 8-4.
Game 3: Marlins 3-2 Phillies
Edward Cabrera vs Zack Wheeler
Jorge Soler would tie the game in the 8th for Miami and eventually end up in extra innings. Bryan De La Cruz in the 10th would get an RBI single to lead the Marlins to the 3-2 victory as well as series victory.
