Inter Miami CF vs CF Montreal
The anticipation for the 4th season in Inter Miami CF history is over with the Herons kicking off the 28th Major League Soccer season at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale welcoming CF Montreal.
Throughout Miami club history, CF Montreal has been a club that they have struggled against. Miami fans were a bit nervous just an hour before the match when they were informed that Leonardo Campana would not be playing due to a calf injury. For CF Montreal it would be about adjusting to life after the departure of Kei Kamara to the Chicago Fire just a day before the season commenced.
Inter Miami CF Starting XI:

Ukrainian international Kryvtsov would score on his debut in the MLS and Miami on a corner kick in the 41st minute. Montreal goalkeeper Pantemis who was later subbed out due to injury would come out for a punch entirely missing it when it landed right into the favor of Kryvtsov at the back post to make it 1-0.
CF Montreal did have chances in this match with an almost equalizer by Romell Quioto just minutes after Miami opened the scoring, Quioto would have his header denied by Callender who recorded six saves and was the man of the match to many.
South Florida native Shanyder Borgelin who was subbed into the match would also score on his professional debut in the 76th minute. Ariel Lassiter ripped a shot hitting the post falling to Borgelin at the center of the box who attempted a shot and was blocked by a Montreal defender at the goal line which rebounded back to Borgelin in which this time gets the job done. The Haitian would make it 2-0 pretty much sealing the deal.
Miami had 18 shots on goal with 44% ball possession in a dominant performance to earn themselves their first opening day victory in club history with this 2-0 win.
Next up for Inter Miami CF is another home match next weekend welcoming the defending Eastern Conference champions the Philadelphia Union.
