Luis Arraez signs with the Miami Marlins
Another big splash in the market for the Miami Marlins that will immensely improve the offense for the Marlins.
This of course comes with a price as the Marlins send the Minnesota Twins RHP Pablo Lopez in exchange for Arraez. I think this is a good trade because the Marlins need some help offensively and what way to do it then to go out and get the reigning AL batting champ.
Kim Ng will have Arraez play at second which will move Jazz Chisholm Jr over to center field in which is a move he seems to be in accord with.
Arraez is the type of player that keeps at bats going and extends innings as well as driving in runs. That's exactly what the Marlins have needed despite having a young bullpen that is showing promise. You add those two things together and you definitely have something in the works.
The AL batting champ finished the 2022 season with 547 at bats with 173 hits, 8 home runs, 49 RBI, and 88 runs.
The former Twin is the 3rd big signing for the Marlins this offseason after they secured Jean Segura and Johnny Cueto.
Marlins are looking to add a 4th with obtaining the signature of Yuli Gurriel.
