Miami Dolphins vs New York Jets
The Miami Dolphins entered their matchup with rivals New York Jets with much drama going on over the health situation of QB Tua Tagavailoa. The NFL concluded its investigation and ruled that the Dolphins organization where in no wrong doing. Tagavailoa once again is ruled not to have had a concussion in the game against the Bills. Tua is still out with an injury which left the starting QB position to backup Teddy Bridgewater.
We've seen what this Miami Dolphins team is capable of when they're healthy but they were far from that on Sunday afternoon. Xavien Howard and Byron Jones were both ruled out for this game and it only got worse during the game. Teddy Bridgewater would go into concussion protocol in which he cleared but due to the new NFL rules, he was not allowed to re-enter the game. This left the Dolphins playing with a third string QB the rest of the way.
LT Terron Armstead would leave the game with a toe injury leaving third string QB Skylar Thompson unblocked from his blindside. This would allow the Jets to dominate at home and get their first win against Miami since 2019.
Miami did put up 17 points and a lot of that should be credited to RB Raheem Mostert who carried the ball 18 times for 113 yards. If it was not for him, Miami would not have been able to battle the Jets in the first half of this ballgame.
The Jets handed the Dolphins a 40-17 loss making it back-to back defeats for Miami. They fall to 3-2 on the season with a banged up squad sitting 3rd in the AFC East.
Next up for the Miami Dolphins is a home game at Hard Rock Stadium welcoming the Minnesota Vikings.
