Miami Dolphins vs Buffalo Bills
If we thought last week was the heavyweight matchup for the Miami Dolphins then you were certainly mistaken. This indeed was the heavyweight match as the Phins welcomed in AFC East rivals the Buffalo Bills. Miami and Buffalo entered the game undefeated and ready to battle for who is the best team in the AFC.
The Dolphins defense is something worth talking about as they brought pressure almost every single play on Bills QB Josh Allen. You would figure that they would be gassed with all the time they saw the field but it was quite the opposite. The Bills struggled all afternoon long with the South Florida temperature with many players going to the floor suffering from camps and needing liquid IV's.
With the Dolphins leading the game 21-17 and with possession of the football pinned against their end zone, they were unable to get a first down to seal the deal and were forced to punt. Thomas Morstead would have his punt go off of his own player and out of bounds resulting in a safety to make the game 21-19 with less then a minute left.
Josh Allen was the soul of this offense making big plays specifically on third down running the ball himself and he continued on the final drive. Allen would get the ball into field goal territory which would win the game for Buffalo but a holding penalty would move them five yards back. The dagger in the heart was a pass from Allen to McKenzie who desperately tried to get out of bounds who couldn't which resulted in the offense running back to the line of scrimmage but time would run out before the snap occurred.
The Dolphins would go on to win the game 21-19 to advance to a 3-0 record for the first time in four years and 1-0 in the AFC East. Miami is the only undefeated team remaining in the AFC and this win taught us that the Miami Dolphins are a legitimate team this season.
Next up for the Miami Dolphins is a Thursday Night Football meeting with the Cincinnati Bengals.
