The Miami FC vs Pittsburgh Riverhounds
The Miami FC hit the road looking to get +3 on the road looking to build off of last weeks positive result. That would not be the case for Miami fans this weekend as this was one to forget. This was the second meeting between the two as the first ended in a 2-2 draw splitting the points.
4,703 fans packed into Highmark Stadium on a summer night which proved to be a great night out for the local Pittsburgh crowd. As we've seen many times this season with Miami starting out matches looking dangerous and ready to run away with the match. In the 14th minute an attack by the Riverhounds was met with Connor Sparrow leaving his goal to miss the ball giving Toby Sims an easy pass to Cicerone who squared it to make it 1-0. The Riverhounds would play its defense deeper into their own side only allowing Miami one shot before heading to the dressing rooms.
The home team wasted no time right out the gate in the 49th minute where Peters got his head at the end of a curler from a corner delivery to make it 2-0. Peters would earn a brace in the 61st minute on a free kick on a blocked shot that would fall right at his feet to punish the Miami defense to make it 3-0. Pittsburgh was not done yet capitalizing once again in the 69th minute with Wiedt winning a header for another Riverhounds goal from a corner kick to make it 4-0.
Although this was a match that Pulis and his staff would want to forget in a hurry they did get one back in the 90th minute with Chapman-Page capitalizing on a rebound to make it 4-1. That would be the final score giving the Pittsburgh Riverhounds +3 at home sending Miami packing.
Next up for The Miami FC is a home midweek matchup welcoming in the Charleston Battery.
