The Miami FC vs Tampa Bay Rowdies
This is the second meeting of the season between the arch rivals with this time the match being held at FIU Stadium. The last matchup resulted in a 1-0 victory in favor of The Miami FC. Tampa entered this match sitting 5th while Miami entered sitting 7th.
This was a match that was in favor of Miami all night long but little mistakes would cost them. Miami would dominate possession 56% compared to Tampa's 44%. The blue and orange would have 12 shots with three of those being on target with Tampa having 14 shots with five on target.
The opening goal would come in the 33rd minute with an own goal by Boluwatife Akinyode giving the Rowdies the 1-0 lead. Discipline would be another topic with a total of seven cards being shown with four to Tampa and three to Miami. There would be no more action for the rest of the first half sending the teams to the dressing room.
Right out of the gate in the 48th minute the Rowdies were awarded a penalty in which Leo Fernandes would slot it home making it 2-0. Tampa won the battle from the corner flag as they had six corners compared to Miami's two.
Miami would make this a match again in the 64th minute with Bah Othello putting his team on the board making it a 2-1 deficit. This would make the match interesting with a little over 20 minutes to go but Tampa was able to hang on. The Rowdies return the favor of beating their rivals at their house with a final score of 2-1 earning all three points. The Tampa Bay Rowdies jump to 3rd in the table with The Miami FC falling to 8th.
