The Miami FC vs Los Angeles Galaxy II

The Miami FC vs Los Angeles Galaxy II

After a week off The Miami FC were back at FIU Stadium sitting 8th in the Eastern Conference looking to jump right back into a playoff spot. They welcomed the LA Galaxy II who sit in the same exact spot as Miami but in the Western Conference. Miami this week unveiled a new signing from El Salvador forward Joaquin Rivas who was quickly put in the starting 11.

The first half started out quick for the LA Galaxy II when Paco Craig committed a foul right outside the 18 prompting a free quick. Joshua Drack would nail it in the right corner to give LA the advantage 1-0. Another quick counter attack by the Galaxy would end in a volley that would see the back of the net scored by Michael Salazar making it 2-0 in the 9th minute. Miami would respond in the 16th minute with a goal by Kyle Murphy cutting the deficit to 2-1. The grit and fight from Miami is what kept them in the match throughout the first half controlling possession and barely allowing LA on their side of the field.

There was not much going on through 67 minutes until a great Miami opportunity in the 18 yard box that should've been finished was skied over the crossbar. Both LA and Miami's defense kept things at a grid lock for much of the second half keeping the offense quiet.

A solo breakthrough by Preston Judd in the 70th minute occurs with the amount of space Miami gave him which allowed him to push forward with a fancy step over which isolated himself from his defender in the 18 putting the ball in the back of the net. The Galaxy II would put this match to bed 3-1 and securing +3 on the road.

Next up for The Miami FC is a road match this upcoming weekend against Indy Eleven.
