Inter Miami CF Back on Track Before Club World Cup

Inter Miami CF Back on Track Before Club World Cup

Inter Miami CF were desperate to find form after several defeats saw the team draw much criticism and fall all the way to 7th in the Eastern Conference. Fans flooded social media calling for the club to sack Javier Mascherano claiming the club was back to the Phil Neville days. Miami suffered defeats to Minnesota, Orlando, and two draws to San Jose and Philadelphia. It's a span that saw the team concede 20+ goals in six games. This continued to prove Miami's need to work on the defense that has taken a step back from last season.

The club would pick up two important victories against bottom of the table Montreal and top of the table Columbus in dominating fashion. The club desperately needed this as they head to the FIFA Club World Cup beginning on June 14 with Miami having the opening match against Al Ahly from Egypt. These victories jumped Miami all the way to third in the Eastern Conference which shows you how tight things are in the conference. Many pundits still doubt Miami even with these two positive results because of the performances in the past that we've seen and are calling for a disappointing Club World Cup campaign for the South Florida side.

Let's take a look at the last two matches that put Miami back on track in league play.
