The Cavaliers end the Miami Heat season

It was a tough watch for Miami Heat fans all over the world as the Cleveland Cavaliers go ahead and sweep the Heat 4-0 in the first round of the playoffs. It just wasn't the sweep that made it bad but in the way they got swept. In the final game of the series the Kaseya Center was empty by halftime with how bad  Miami was losing. The question is did Miami quit in this final game or did they just not have enough to compete with Cleveland.

It was a turbulent season for the Heat with star player Jimmy Butler going against the organization and wanting out of Miami. Butler kept Miami hostage and forced the team to have no other choice but to trade him at the deadline in which Miami received Andrew Wiggins, Kyle Anderson, and Davion Mitchell. Miami would go on a 10-game losing streak but then would turn it around and go on an eight-game winning streak ending the season with a play-in spot.

The Heat finished the regular season in the 10th spot with an overall record of 37-45. Miami traveled on the road to face the Chicago Bulls first in which Chicago has had Miami's number all season long but the Heat came away with the 109-90 victory. On to the peach state to face the Atlanta Hawks for that final spot in the playoffs in which in a tightly contested battle it was the Heat escaping with the 123-114 victory in overtime.

With the Cavaliers taking all four games from Miami in the first round ending the Heat's 2024-2025 campaign it leaves many questions. Stephen A Smith on First Take suggested that Pat Riley isn't the guy anymore and should retire leaving his role to Erik Spoelstra which would leave a vacant coaching position in Miami. The team hasn't improved in the last three years with the organization vowing to run it back when it's been clear it just isn't enough. The yearly exit interviews will be interesting and indeed will be an interesting offseason for the Miami Heat.
