Miami Dolphins vs Las Vegas Raiders
Some normalcy has been restored to the Miami Dolphins lockeroom with the return of QB Tua Tagavailoa. You can see the offense that was designed around the Alabama product start to return to its old self. The Dolphins surprised many with a road win against the Los Angeles Rams and will have a chance to improve the record at home welcoming the struggling Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders enter this game after a suffering a 41-24 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
For the Dolphins it was QB Tua Tagavailoa going for 28/36 on 288 yards with a whopping three touchdowns on the afternoon. In the rushing department for Miami it was De'Von Achane with 17 carries going for 73 yards and one touchdown. It wasn't the best day for the running backs but the Dolphins receiving core had a huge day. Jonnu Smith had six receptions going for 101 yards and two touchdowns followed by Tyreek Hill who had seven receptions for 61 yards and one touchdown.
For the Raiders it was the decision to keep QB Gardner Minshew in the starting role who finished the day going 30/43 on 282 yards with two touchdowns and just one interception. For the Raiders rushing it was Jakobi Meyers with just one carry going for 20 yards and no touchdowns. Right behind him was Alexander Mattison with five carries for just 19 yards and also no touchdowns. Brock Bowers would be the lone man in receiving with a touchdown finishing the game with 126 yards off 13 receptions.
The Raiders got on the board first in this game after a running into the kicker penalty allowing Minshew to get his team down the field promoting a successful field goal. Las Vegas had a tough time stopping Miami's drives with the Dolphins converting eight out of 12 third downs. Miami would also score on three trips to the red zone out of four. Raheem Mostert left in the first half for the Dolphins with a hip injury but returned in the second half.
Jalen Ramsey would intercept Minshew late in the game which would be a dagger and would be the 13th turnover of the season for the Raiders QB. To seal the deal it was Smith who blew through the Raiders secondary left absolutely wide open and got the attention of Tagavailoa. Smith would run it in for a touchdown and that would seal the deal. The Dolphins improve to 4-6 after defeating the Raiders by a final score of 34-19.
