Florida Panthers vs Winnipeg Jets
It was a tough week last week for the Florida Panthers who fell twice to the New Jersey Devils with Florida falling out of the top spot in the Eastern Conference. The Panthers although maintain the lead in the Atlantic division over the Toronto Maple Leafs. Florida would have a home and away series against the best team in the west the Winnipeg Jets. A shutout against the Jets would make a statement for the defending champions who could meet the Jets in the Stanley Cup Finals.
Game 1: Panthers 5-0 Jets
Sergei Bobrovsky earned his 45th career shutout stopping 27 shots against the Jets with the Panthers offense exploding for a final score of 5-0.
Game 2: Panthers 3-6 Jets
Mark Scheifele earned himself a hat trick including two empty net goals for the Jets defeating the Panthers 6-3.
Next up for the Florida Panthers is a road game visiting the Chicago Blackhawks.
