Florida Panthers vs Vancouver Canucks

 Florida Panthers vs Vancouver Canucks

Finally the road trip has come to an end for the Florida Panthers after splitting the trip with losses against Ottawa and Buffalo but victories against Boston and Columbus. Panthers returned to the Amerant Bank Arena for the first time since the season opener against Boston. Florida would welcome in the Vancouver Canucks who have one victory against Edmonton and then losses against Calgary, Philadelphia, and Tampa Bay.

The Vancouver Canucks were on the board first with Teddy Blueger putting it past Sergei Bobrovsky who tallied 30 saves on the night. It was 1-0 for Vancouver in the first period but just moments later it was Jesper Boqvist for Florida putting his team on the board to equalize 1-1. The end of the first period would end with the score all knotted up. It's the third game in a row for Florida where the opposing opens the scoring.

Just six minutes into the second period it was Quinn Hughes for Vancouver who would put his team up in the lead 2-1. It wasn't a quick response from the Panthers this time but late in the second period it was Anton Lundell with his fourth goal in the last three games equalizing making it 2-2. Florida would remain without Aleksander Barkov and Matthew Tkachuk.

Scoring for the Canucks has not been an issue with Vancouver scoring first in three out of its four games. Over the last 10 games in the state of Florida the Canucks have a record of 2-8-0. The third period went scoreless with the game going to overtime with it being the second OT game for the Canucks this season and the first for the Panthers. J.T. Miller would score two minutes into OT ending the game and giving the Canucks the 3-2 victory over the Panthers.

Next up for the Florida Panthers is a home game welcoming the Las Vegas Golden Knights to Amerant Bank Arena.
