Inter Miami CF vs Orlando City
It's a midweek matchup at Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida between the two rivals Inter Miami CF and Orlando City. Miami enters the match leading the Eastern Conference by three points but the headline would be that they will be without Lionel Messi in the 407. Orlando City on the other hand entered the season as title favorites but have yet to impress as they struggle to find form. The first meeting between these two this season was a huge victory for Miami.
Not much to rave about in this match as both teams struggled to find the back of the net. Orlando did well getting down the field but once they arrived in the final third, they did not know what to do with the ball. Luis Suarez and Robert Taylor both had great chances for Miami but would both be stopped by Pedro Gallese and a defensive clearance. Martin Ojeda also had a great opportunity for Orlando but was saved by Drake Callendar.
The second half would bring in changes for Miami as Suarez and Franco Negri would make way for Leonardo Campana and Jordi Alba who returned from injury missing the last four matches. Alba was quickly involved in the action as Sergio Busquets would find his former Barcelona teammate and delivered a cross into the center but would be cleared by the City back line.
The match would come to a close with the final result being a 0-0 draw. The two rivals would share the points as that keeps Miami at the top of east but by one point as FC Cincinnati picked up a victory. Miami also sits on top of the Supporters Shield standings. Orlando with the draw did manage to move up to 11th in the conference.
Next up for Inter Miami CF is a home match welcoming D.C. United to Chase Stadium at the weekend.
