Miami Marlins vs Chicago Cubs
The Marlins hit the road after being swept by the Atlanta Braves which has been one of their weaknesses so far this season. The Fish visited the world famous Wrigley Field after a series sweep of the Cubs last weekend. Chicago entered the series after only having been able to take one of four away from the Washington Nationals.
Game 1: Marlins 1-4 Cubs
Edward Cabrera vs Justin Steele
Seven strong innings from Steele plus a two-run homer from Ian Happ helped the Cubs to victory over Miami 4-1.
Game 2: Marlins 2-4 Cubs
Matt Barnes vs Drew Smyly
Nick Madrigal was the magic man on Saturday giving the Cubs a two-run homer and the 4-2 victory including the series win.
Game 3: Marlins 5-4 Cubs
Sandy Alcantara vs Hayden Wesneski
A four-game losing streak came to an end for the Marlins after a 14-inning thriller that included a homer from Yuli Gurriel giving Miami the 5-4 victory.
Next up for the Marlins is a west coast road trip facing the Arizona Diamondbacks for a three-game series.
